The department of ENT provides diagnosis and treatment for the problems of the ear nose and throat to about16000 patients annually. While a large number of patients come from the city, we also get patients from nearby states like Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Jammu & Kashmir. Specialities include microsurgery of the ear, rehabilitation of the hearing impaired, Rhinology and sinus diseases, tumors of the head and neck, laryngology vocal and speech disorders. Endoscopic surgical therapy and endoscopic diagnosis are available. Patients with head and neck malignancies are seen in consultation with Radiation Oncology department and treatment is planned.  

Minor procedures like nasal endoscopy, flexible nasopharyngolaryngoscopy, examination under microscope, pharyngeal and nasal biopsy are done in the OPD procedure room. Operating days are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The list usually consists of mastoid surgery, septoplasty, tympanoplasty, ossiculoplasty, tonsillectomy, microlaryngeal surgery and direct laryngoscopy. Head neck surgery and angiofibroma excision are also performed regularly. For patients with sleep disorders polysomography is also available.
