We have a well organized training program for both the under-graduates and post-graduates with didactic lectures and interactive clinical sessions held round the year. The institution is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health sciences in Punjab. The spectrum of patients we treat is an academic feast to the interested. There are many who have visited us from overseas and marveled. There are various research projects  in the department at any time with emphasis on publishing  both national and international journals. To keep abreast with the latest in the Orthopaedic world the faculty and students are encouraged to regularly participate in conferences and fellowship programs both within the country and abroad. The department regularly organizes work-shops and symposiums in Orthopaedics which are appreciated and well attended.

We have regular visitors from abroad. Some including our own alumni have come back each year to contribute with their expertise. Prominent among them are Dr. Ananthakrishnan and Dr. Feroze Yusufji from USA and Dr. John Tricker from UK. They have contributed immensely both financially and in terms of time and expertise, which has been a source of great support and encouragement to us. Thanks to the efforts of Dr. Ananthakrishnan and Dr. Tricker, we have a well stocked Orthopaedic library.
