Dr. Rajeev Kapoor has received specialized training in colorectal surgery from Flinders Medical Centre, Adelaide, Australia, where he worked for two years as a senior fellow in a specialized colorectal unit. While he was there, he received extensive experience in management of intestinal, colonic and rectal cancer, surgical management of fecal incontenace and rectal prolapse.

He also specializes in surgical treatment of ulcerative colitis like total proctocolectomy and ileal pouch with a ileoanal anastamosis (artificial rectum). He also specializes in treating other colorectal problems.

He has also been accredited by the Gastroeneterological society of Australia (GESA) to perform diagnostic and therapeutic colonoscopies. While helpful in diagnosing diseases of the colon and rectum, colonoscopy is a very useful tool for follow-up of cancer, removing polyps, taking biopsies and coagulating bleeding vessels.
