Medical Oncology as a discipline has had
roots established in CMCH when most medical colleges in the country had
little understanding of the same. Dr. Alex Zach was one of the earlier
trained oncologists from New Zealand in the country and was instrumental
in establishing it as an independent discipline. He inspired many
juniors to pursue a career in medical oncology and trained them for the
same. A number of alumni of the college are leading oncologists in the
west and also continue to actively involve themselves in the ongoing
development of oncology at CMCH.
