Ultrasound is performed not only for general purpose but also for specific indications like – to know presence of fluid in thoracic as well as peritoneal and pelvic cavity and diagnostic aspirations are performed under ultrasound guidance. Therapeutic drainage of abscess and PCN (Percutaneous Nephrostomy), renal transplant biopsy are performed as and when indicated. Diagnosis of Cystic and Solid tumors are being achieved too. Colour Doppler studies for carotid, vertebral artery and for branches of abdominal aorta and its branches like renal Doppler, upper and lower limbs Doppler are routinely performed. Diagnoses of congenital malformation, SD ratio are routinely performed, aminocentasis, Neonatal cranial ultrasound, small parts ultrasound like eye, thyroid, scrotal and sonomammography (breast ultrasound) are being performed routinely. Large joint ultrasounds are performed when indicated. Penile Doppler studies, TVS (Transvagial ultrasound); and Ovulation studies are performed routinely.
