Christian Dental College (CDC) Ludhiana was established in the year 1992 with the admission of 20 BDS students. This was possible by the untiring efforts of Dr A.V Chowdhary ( CMC Director from 1986 – 1992), Dr J.L Joshi ( CDC Principal 1992-2007), Rev Charles Reynolds ( US CMC Board Director) and many others. The primary aim for establishing the Christian Dental College was to train young individuals as professionals who would be motivated to take up working in needy parts of India through mission fields and other sponsoring agencies. CDC was initially affiliated to Panjab University and from August 2000 the affiliation shifted to BFUHS Faridkot.

From 1999 year onwards CDC admitted 40 students in each batch. In the year 2002, CDC was the first private dental college to start MDS course in the subject of Paedodontia and Preventive Dentistry. Later in the year 2014, MDS course was started in Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Surgery. From its inception to its present form the college is now placed amongst the top dental colleges of country.
