The Department of Clinical Haematology, Haemato-Oncology & Bone Marrow / Stem Cell Transplantation at Christian Medical College & Hospital (CMC), Ludhiana, stands as one of North India’s centers for the treatment of blood disorders and blood cancers. With over 18 years of uninterrupted excellence in bone marrow (stem cell) transplantation and the comprehensive management of both benign and malignant haematological diseases, the department is now at a pivotal juncture of growth.
New consultants are joining the team, research output is expanding, and patient volumes continue to rise. To sustain and accelerate this momentum, the department urgently requires a dedicated Research and Office Space to be constructed above Ward 27. This new first-floor facility Advanced Haematology Research & Coordination Centre will house clinical offices, research workstations, a flexible meeting space, a pantry, archival storage, and dedicated consultation rooms — all within a thoughtfully planned 2,200+ sq. ft. layout.
We invite individuals, corporates, trusts, and philanthropic organizations to partner with us in this transformative project. The total estimated cost is ₹80,00,000 (Rupees Eighty Lakhs Only). Your contribution will directly strengthen advanced cancer and transplant care for the city of Ludhiana and the wider Punjab region, enabling CMC to serve thousands more patients with the highest standards of compassion and clinical excellence.
CMC Ludhiana has been at the forefront of bone marrow (stem cell) transplantation for over 18 years, building one of the most experienced and comprehensive haematology programmes in North India. The department treats the full spectrum of haematological conditions — from benign disorders such as aplastic anaemia, thalassaemia, and sickle cell disease to malignant diseases including leukaemias, lymphomas, and myeloma.
The programme has performed hundreds of allogeneic and autologous transplants, offering hope to patients from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, and beyond who previously had to travel to distant metros for this life-saving treatment.
The department is undergoing an exciting phase of growth. New consultants are joining the team, bringing fresh expertise and this expansion in human capital demands a corresponding expansion in physical infrastructure — dedicated office space, research workstations, and coordination areas that allow the team to function at peak efficiency.
